This mask is a wall hanging made of mid-range clay and glaze. It began as a slab of clay formed over a small oval mold to create the general head shape.  From there, the form is pushed and molded to become closer to a natural face-shape.  Then, clay is added and shaped to create the eyes, nose and mouth. Her woody hair was created last.  The natural edges of the slab were left raw to give a more organic appearance. After bisque firing, mid-range glazes were used to accentuate the sculpting and organic edges.  There is a hanging wire placed behind the mask.

This piece was inspired by the oneness of all things.  Oneness of all living things.
